“The surname Gulliford/Gulliver is an old French nick-name for 'Glutton'. Most of Gulliford's live in the West Country. Four members of the family came over from Normandy with William the Conqueror in 1066 and settled in Norfolk. The name in 1066 was Goulafre/Goulafra.”
I’d heard of the ‘Goulafre’ and glutton references but not the connection with William the Conqueror. Do you have any sources?
