My great great grandfather was PETER WILLIAM GUSTAFSON who ran away to sea at the age of 10/11 years old and travelled the world as a seaman. PETER was born 1860? STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN and his parents were GUSTAVE, PETER ISAACSON & BREIDER KAISER LAWSON.While PETER was in port at Sydney, Aust. he use to board at The Rocks with the widow WEBSTER who had 2 sons to her previous marriage in 1884 to HARRY( WILLIAM H )WEBSTER, their sons were BERT who died age 16, and LESLIE (DAVID L) WEBSTER born 1891,died 19-8-1950, who married 1912 MYRA I GILBERTHORPE and had 3 children: LESLIE ( two daug.JANICE & BERYL), BERT who marr. GRACE and had 3 sons DANNY, DAVID & MICHAEL. MYRA WEBSTER 1918-1930 died age 12. My grandmother was BERITA MARGARET GUSTAFSON born 12-12-1903 and died 25-10-1942, age 39 from a heart attack in the street while her husband CECIL JOSEPH STOCKDALE was overseas reported missing in action in the Second World War.BERITA & JOSEPH STOCKDALE had 3 daughters, LILA, my mother, JEAN & BETTY. The widow MARY WEBSTER was previously MARGARET COOPER born 1860 KANGALOON,NSW. Daugther of THOMAS DENNIS COOPER & MARGARET JORDAN. PETER GUSTAFSON aged 59, 6 foot and 22 stone, met an untimely end when he was crushed between the LITHGOW Councils steam traction plant and a coal truck on the 29-7-1919, not long after my mother LILA was born 11-6-1919. PETER GUSTAFSON had a brother in Australia who he financed to go to America and he became rich so they say. I look forward to hearing from anyone working on the same family tree or can help with my research. Please see WEBSTER & STOCKDALE also on this site. God bless, Sue Huggins.
