Hi Rebecca, I have just revisited this old thread and am happy to say that my HAAG researches have progressed. I have a line now going back to 1660.
I'm afraid none of my names tally with yours in time but I do have an earlier Johann Christoph HAAG and wonder if he is a predecessor of your ancestor of the same name. This is whar I know of him:
Johann Christoph HAAG was born on 7 Feb 1762 in Erlangen-Neustadt, Bayern, Germany. He was baptized on 10 Feb 1762 in Erlangen-Neustadt, Bayern, Germany. He died on 28 Jun 1806 in Erlangen-Neustadt, Bayern, Germany. He died at 6PM. He was buried on 1 Jul 1806 in Erlangen-Neustadt, Bayern, Germany. His age at time of death was 44 years, 4 months and 21 days. He was a ropemaker in Erlangen-Neustadt, Bayern, Germany.27 He was Lutheran (evangelisch).
Parents: Johann HAAG and Anna BARTHELMEß.
Spouse 1: Martha Johanna SCHOLL. Johann Christoph HAAG and Martha Johanna SCHOLL were married on 23 Nov 1784 in Erlangen-Neustadt, Bayern, Germany - no isuue found.
Spouse 2: Anna Barbara LUBER. Johann Christoph HAAG and Anna Barbara LUBER were married on 14 Feb 1787 in Erlangen-Neustadt, Bayern, Germany. Children were: Anne Sybille HAAG, Johannes Andreas HAAG, Johann Reichardt HAAG, Apollonia Sibylla HAAG, Georg Wolfgang HAAG, Apollonia Maria HAAG.
All my HAAGs centre on Erlangen in Bavaria. Georgraphically I am not sure whether that is close to where your ancestors came from, or not. If this has rung any bells however, please get in touch. Yours may be a collateral branch to mine.
