I got into the Hebron research via a friend about 3 years ago. The thing is, I became hooked. The particular Hebron line I was following was extremely interesting, and I am still trying to help to this day. The family I am following at this point starts with a George Hebron b.abt 1718 around Westerdale,Yorkshire area. George married a Alice Nicholson 12 Aug 1738 Stokesley, Yorkshire. Their sons were George 1739 to 1770, William 1741 to 1803 and Joseph 1744 to 1804. We have a good portion of their and their families information, except for a little bit here and there.
What I am truly interested in now is, the family before George abt.1718. According to the Last Will and Testement of George, his father was also named George, I also know that his mother was later remarried to a Sanderson, he could possibly have been a George or Ralph Sanderson. George's mother and this George Sandersons children were Ralph,Sarah and John.
We have checked out the Bishops Transcripts of 1601*1865, and found other Hebrons in Westerdale. Peter Hebron b.abt 1695, Joseph Hebron b.1723(brother to our George), Christopher Hebron b.abt1705 and Thomas b.abt 1700. I am quite sure that this family originated in Durham, but unfortunately I can not prove it.
I of coarse would be grateful for any help, maybe you could also give my e-mail address to Mr Clark. Maybe we can help each other fill in the blanks.
Right now my e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org
I have some information on the meaning of Hebron, I will send it along just in case you are interested.
