Lisa-Would like to excahnge info with you.I have my line from 1777 in VA and thur Phillips DNA Project have proven reationship with the Phillips ofthe tri-state area of Wayne Co, TN; Tishimingo Co, MS and Lauderdale Co.,AL. Am currently working with descendants of William Wiley Phillips, one of three brothers of your John Wiley .(other two were James edward and Berry Smith Phillips. We know that their mothEr was Pheba/Phoebe Phillips but have not found the name of their father.I have been unable to find this family in the 1850 census.
My documented roots go to Joseph Phillips who died in Brunswick Co., VA in 1777.He had 4 sons & 4 daughters. One, William, (my GGGG GF) died in his 30's there. The other three migrated away. Two, John & Sterling, for sure went to Laurens Co., SCand then to Wayne Co.,TN and Lauderdale Co., AL.I beleive but have not found documentation that the fourth son, Josiah, also wound up in that area after first going to NC.One of their sisters, Martha (Patsy) Phillips Kelly wound up in adj. Madison Co. and others wound up in Limestone Co.,AL.
Because one of the male descendants of your John Wiley is a perfect 37 of 37 DNA Y Marker match with me, I know that your John Wiley is from this same family.I also know that he is not descended from Sterling or my William so that leaves either John or Josiah.Any info you can give me would be helpful, especially the father of John Willey.
I have aobut 40+ pages of data on this famiy back to 1777.I THINK I have Jospeh's parnts figured out but do to lack of records in the "Burned counties" of Va. am having difficulty proving it.I willbe happy to give you any data that I have.
