I am researching Frank Haffner who came to Cleveland, Ohio in the 1860s. He married Anna Waldheger (Valdger) in Aug 1869, and they had 3 children, two boys and a girl. The daughter Mina (b. Nov 1, 1873) died at the age of 4 months, but the two boys lived to be adults, dying in 1944 and 1958.
Frank is supposedly buried at Monroe Street Cemetery in Cleveland. Anna will not be there since she survived him, and she remarried, to Alois Schutt in Sep 1877. But Mina and/or a previous wife might be there with him. He probably came to the US from Bohemia in Jan 1865 and was by trade a marble polisher - he later owned a saloon, and then made cigars.
Frank Haffner/Hofner died on Oct 3, 1876 in Cleveland from some kind of spinal injury (accident).
I would like to hear from anyone who has info to share, and I am glad to do likewise.
