This Hagan/Hagin/Hagans line has been researched by several people for a number of years. This is what we believe but cannot prove most of the information. Edward Hagan Sr.b. 1755 in Wrightsboro, GA or SC. will probated on 8 Jan. 1805 in Clark Co., GA. we know that an Edward Hagan was certified on a list of GA troops. Elijah Clarke certified him as a Refugee Soldier on 7 April 1784 and he received 287 1/2 acres in Washington Co, GA. He was living in Wilkes Co.,GA in 1785, Capt of the 9th comparny, Washington Co, Georgia Militia in 1787 and a personal friend of Elijah Clarke, famous hero of the Revolutionary War. He was the Coroner in Washington Co., in 1790 & 1792. First found living in Clarke Co.GA in 1802. He had 3 children which we believe to be: James Hagin b. 1775, d.1814 Clarke Co.,Edward Hagan JR., b 1782 in Wilkes Co. d. after 1820 in Coosa Co.,AL, Daniel Hagan, b. 1788. He married Elizabeth Newsome 1 June 1813, Charels Hagan b.ca 1798 in Ga. Daniel's wife, Elizabeth married 1st Nathaniel Newsome of Clarke Co., she was daughter of John Hinnard. Daniel & Elizabeth had several children. Daniel married Sarah Bolton b.1828 in Talladega Co. (now Clay Co.) AL. 25 Sept.1860, he died March 1875 in Clay Co,AL. I have a J.D.Hagan as his child but no other information. There are still descendants living in Clay Co. but do not have their names or any information.
