I was doing research on Hagan Families in Ohio today and how they evolved.Trying to get a truer pictue of Relationships that I haven't been able to pin down yet and so on.So while the information is still fresh I though I would share the info.
By 1840 there are 14 Hagan families in Ohio with 5 of them in Tuscarwas Co.The 5 families listed in Tuscarwas are below.
Charles Hagan, in Washington Township, Tuscarwas Co, Ohio with his wife and 8 children. pg 5 (possible brother to Samuel)
Edward Hagan who is between 60 and 70 and has two sons, and three daughters. He was born PA. The sons are between the age of 15 and 20 and the daughters are age between 5 and 10 and two daughters between the age of 20 and 30.Of course it is possible he had married again and one of those was his wife.Washington Township, Tuscarwas Co, Ohio Pg 7
Samuel Hagan who is listed as between 20 and 30 with a son under 5.That would be probably be Robert who was killed in the Civil War.His wife is between 20 and under 30.No daughters were born yet.Washington Township, Tuscarwas Co.This is two entries below Edward.Charles is two pages before on this census.One of those two pages is taken up with information other than names.Such as slaves and so on.Both Samuel and Edward were involved in Agriculture.Pg 7
John Hagan Pg 7, Washington Township, Tusscarwas Co, Ohio. His is listed as between 30 and 40.With a son between 5 and 10 and a daughter under 5, a daughter between 5 and 10, and a wife between 30 and 40.
Robert Hagan, Tuscarwas Co, Ohio, pg 9.Robert is between 30 and 40 and has two sons under 10.His wife is between 30 and 40.He has one daughter under 5, 4 daughters between 5 and 10, and 2 daughters between 10 and 15.
By 1850 there are 28 Hagan names listed for Tuscarwas Co.

#2 John Hagan born 1828 Ohio, his wife Ruth A born 1827, Pennsylvania, Charles A. who is 6 months born Ohio, and Elmira Miller age 5.Ruth was a Miller before her marriage.Probably a sister of hers.
#3 Samuel Hagan age 35 born Pennsylvania, Ellen age 34 born Ohio, Robert age 10 born Ohio, George age 7, born Ohio, Edward age 5 born Ohio, Mary age 2 born Ohio.Those are all for Washington Township, Tuscarawas Co, Ohio.Those are all in Washington Township.
In Oxford Township, Tuscarawas Co, Ohio there are #4 Edward Hagan born 1822 in Pennsylvania and possibly Samuel's brother.His wife Matilda who is born 1821 in Ohio. Aschel N, age 6 b. Ohio, and Mary E. age 4, born Ohio, Elijah T. age 2 born Ohio. The printed index lists an Isobel Hagan with this family, but looking at the actual one it is Ashael N. Hagan who married Charity Singleton later.
In Salem Township, Tuscarawas Co, Ohio there are #5
Hagan, Robert, born about 1802, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth born about 1804 Pennsylvania, Maria born about 1826, Pennsylvania, Margaret age 18, born in PA, Harriett b. about 1838 born Pa, George W. age 10 b. abt. 1840, Ohio.(Which of course means the family moved between 1838 and 1840), and Mary M, age 4, b. Ohio, In the same census were John Schaffer,age 25, laborer and Elizabeth who was 16, both born Ohio.Robert #5 will still be in Ohio for the 1860 census,with Elizabeth and children, Mary, Elmira and Robert. 1870 with Elizabeth and daughter Elmira or Elvira age 17.I do not find him after 1870 in any state.
Does any one have information as to whether Charles had siblings and who they were or who his parents were.Do you know what nationality they were.
