I am a descendant of Elizabeth "Betsy" Haggard (1784-1869)who married Joel Quisenberry (1784-1847).The record of their marriage is in Clark County, KY Marriage Register White 1-W, p 53 and in Clark County, KY Marriage Bonds Book 3.Elizabeth Haggard Quisenberry is named in the will of her father John Haggard (1754-1832) who was married to Mary Jane Shepherd (1754-1844) (Clark County Will Book 7, p736-738). The will of Nathaniel Haggard (1723-1806) whose second wife was Elizabeth Gentry (1731-1820) names their son John Haggard (Clark County Will Book 2, p 200-202). Nathaniel Haggard signed the Albemarle County, VA Declaration of Independence as is DAR Ancestor #A049112. There have been several NSDAR applications that went through Nathaniel's son John.
Mary Jane Shepherd, the wife of John Haggard, is a descendant of two Revolutionary War Patriots: (1) her father Augustine Shepherd (ca 1730-1798) of Albemarle County, VA who married Sarah Shelton (1734-1814) furnished supplies to the Revolution and is DAR Ancestor #A102884; (2) her grandfather William Shelton (ca 1709-1789) who married Patience Thomas (1702-1736). also signed the Albemarle County, VA Declaration of Independence and is DAR Ancestor #A0102838.
