Hi Eveland and all you other Haggett's, I'm from one of two lines of the family with children born in San Francisco in the 1850's. My great grandfather, Forest Fredrick Haggett was born in 1857. His parents where born back east. Father (name unknown), Maine, his mother, Elizabeth, was born in New York. The 1880 census lists her as a widow. Vital records for them perished in the 1906 Earthquake and Fire. A connection with any other information would be greatly appreciated. On a more current theme, last year I started a group on facebook, HAGGETTS AROUND THE WORLD, in an effort to see howmany there are of us and how far we've spread around the world. Australia, South Africa, Canada, in addition to the USA. The UK and Ireland are the roots of many of us. I've found artists, craftspeople, contractors, scholars, an entertainer, a mayor, public servants (my father is retired from the SF Fire Dept and there is a Sgt. John Haggett retired from the SF Police Dept., we have never met.)I was a brewer for 33 years for BUDWEISER before I retired last spring. Join our group and see how many we are. I can also be reached on facebook by entering my full name, ROBERT GARY HAGGETT. looking forward to any response, Gary P.S. I'm also curious about my great grandfather Forest F. Haggett and who his father may have been.
