The information that was already posted is correct.I am a decendant of her nephew George Anderson Haislip listed in the 1860 census as 15 years old.Her daughter's name was Martha, her mother Cathrine and her brother Harrison. I have conflicting documentation for her husbend Howell Herndon. In 1852 Sarah Ann Haislip married Howell L Herndon in Fluvanna Co.VA. He was born in 1831 and died in 1922:he was 91 He was listed in the 1860 census as 27;with Seven Islands Post Office.CSA military records indicate that he was conscripted sometime prior to 22 Jan.1864 when he was reassigned from Camp Lee VA as a Private to Captain Snead's Company of the Fluvanna Light Artillery where he was on the muster rolls until his capture at Strasburg,VA on 19 Oct.1864. He was transferred to Harper's Ferry and then to a POW camp at Point Lookout MD where he remained until exchanged. The dated are somewhat confusing but he arrived at the Chimborazo Hospital #5 in Richmond in Dec.1864 and was in General Hospital#9 in Richmond in Feb. 1865. He is listed on the Roll of Prisoners of War as paroled by a Maj. Terwilliger,Provost Marshal and Paroling Officer of US Forces at Columbia VA prior to June 1865. Reportedly he was a farmer in the Seven Islands area of Fluvanna Co. in 1860-resided in the Shores area of the same county after the war and died in 1922. According to my family tradition he went with myG Grandfather, George, to Grafton WV.
