I'm looking for Hakls or Hajeks who have been in Prague since about 1900. My grandfather was Stanislav Carl Hakl. He was born in Kursk Russia (we think) March 18 1889. The family moved to Prague at some point. He came to the US, March 29, 1907 on the Wurzburg out of Bremen, Germany, and eventually settled in Roseville California and married my grandmother Sarah. The ships manifest lists him as Stanislaw Hakala for some reason.
His fathers name was Oldrich Hakl. They moved to Prague in the early 1900s. Stanislav had, we think 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Oldrich Hakl , Zina, Ruiza Budovcova andAta Hajekova. The other brother was a furrier in Paris.
There is a nephew Lada Hajek, born Dec 12 1928 son of Ata born Aug 12 1894 and Nadislav Hajek born April 22 1892.
Oldrich had two children that we know of; Eva and Zdena. Zdena married a Mila (?) and had a son Roman.
Stanislav's brother Oldrich worked in Zivnostenská banka in Karlovy Vary for awhile and the for the Export (?) Office. We have a letter posted from the bank in Karlovy Vary.
