This Halbert Line seems to have daughtered out in the 1600s!
Here's all I know about Michael HALBERT, wife Eleanor and daughter Ann--includes my notes from others:
1686-March 23- Westmoreland County (Montross) Virginia:"Wright's
Conveyance to Michael HALBERT""To all Christian people to whom these
presents shall come.Francis Wright and Ann his wife send greeting in
our Lord God everlasting."Know ye that I Francis Wright of the County
of Westmoreland in Virginia, Gent. And I the said Ann daughter of Col.
John Washington of the county aforesaid deceased now, wife to the said
Francis Wright for good cause and consideration as thereunto moving and
more especially for the sum of four thousands pounds of tobacco in cask
to us in hand delivered and wherewith, we do grant, bargain sell, alien
enfeolf and confirm unto Michael HALBERT one hundred acres of land
situate in Westmoreland County, Virginia at the head of Madox, granted
to the said John Washington by patent and now by the death of the said
Washington devoling and dissending to Ann his daughter, now wife to the
said Wright by hereditary right together with all buildings, fences,
orchards, woods, rivers, waters, privileges members and appurtenances to
the same belonging or in any wise appertaining.
To have and to hold the said messuages or hundred acres of land with its
members and appurtenances above recited to him the said Michael HALBERT
his heirs and assigns forever and the said Francis Wright and the said
Ann his wife do for themselves, their heirs, Executors and Admr's. to
and for either and every of them covenant, promise grant and agree to
and with the said Michael HALBERT, his heirs and assigns that the said
hundred acres of land now is and from time to time and at all times
hereafter shall be and remain free and clear and freely and clearly
acquited and discharged of and from all and all manner of person or
persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the said message or hundred acres
of land with its members and appurtenances aforesaid.In witness
whereof we the said Francis Wright and Ann Wright have hereto put our
hands and seals this 25th day of the reign of Our Sovereign Lord James

generation 2:William Buckley Holbert/lHalbert c. 1780 listed in census of Marion County Virginia at age 71. His wife was possibly Jane Hutcheson, mentioned as Jane HARBERT in the will of John Hutcheson.
generation 3: Thomas Halbert/Holbert c. 1790 who married Eleanor Bowman about 1836
generation 4: John Holbert who married Rebecca Pyles.
Generation 4:
Reuben Elijah Holbert born c.1833 Virginia was the son of JOHN HOLBERT & REBECCA PYLES.His wife, Sarah JANEBATES was born c. 1846 in Virginia. I did not have any death date on her or children, so I thank you for the added info.
Generation 3
JOHN HOLBERT, father of Reuben, was born c. 1815 in Virginia. His wife, REBECCA PYLES was born 1812 also of Virginia. He died 1850 at Marion County, Virginia. Their children were Reuben Elijah Holbert 1833; Jacob Holbert 1837; Eli Pyles Holbert Jan 6, 1840 who married June 27, 1871 to Mary Powell, and who died Feb 20, 1890 at Lee's Summit Missouri; Mary A. Holbert 1842; Dolphin Holbert 1844; and last Henry Holbert 1850.JOHN HOLBERT 1815-unknown death date was the son of THOMAS HOLBERT & MARY JAN BURROWS.
Generation 2:
THOMAS HOLBERT was born c. 1780 in Virginia, the son of Aaron Holbert & wife MARY. He married Mary Jane Burrows and was listed in the1850 census of Marion County Virginia ages 65-70 yrs of age.

Aaron Holbert & wife Mary. Aaron was born c.1752 listed in Fairfax Virginia as early as 1776 He died April 12, 1840 at Lewis County, West Virginia. Their children were WILLIAM Holbert c. 1776 who married Mary Berkley; Reuben Holbert c. 1780 married in 1811 Catherine Brannon; Thomas Holbert b. c 1780 who married Mary Jane Burrows; Aaron Jr. b. c 1782 wife's name was Elizabeth; Michael Holbert c. 1782; Elizabeth Holbert c 1784 married John Riddle; Jane Holbert c. 1786 died 1865 at Gilmer County; Martha Holbert c. 1788 married John R. Beal

In 1654 Westmoreland Co. Va. Mr. Thomas Fowke
transported 27 persons: Gerard Fowke, Rich. Holbar, John Halber.
1658 Westmoreland Co. Va. Richard Heabred received 250 acres for transport of 5 persons.
1658 Northumberland Co. Va. Thomas Brewer received 350 acres for Transport of 7 persons

1659/60 Probate of "Will" of (no first name) Holbert to Anne Holbert his wife.
1664 Col. Gerrard Fowke and Mr. Richard Haiberd received 1,680 acres for Transport of 34 persons.
1664 Westmoreland Co. Va., Major John Washington 320 acres for transport of 4 persons.
1674 Westmoreland Co. Va., John Washington patents the Mount Vernon homesite.

Two sons: Joel Halbert b. ca. 1712, d. after 1754 in Carolina Co. Va. William Halbert b. Ca. 1714, d. 2 April 1761 in Essex Co. Va.
1735 King George Co. Va. William Dulin and wife Elizabeth. Deed Book 1A, pages 332-333. They were from Hanover Parish, King George Co. Va., and were of Truro Parish, Fairfax Co. Va. Sale by lease or release of land partly in King George Co. Va and partly in Westmoreland Co. Va. One acre was reserved for themselves which was partly in one county, and partly in the other county.
They married in Essex Co. Va., and their children all born there.

Thomas Halbert b.early 1700's, died ca. 1779/80 Fairfax Co., Va. Wife was Lydia Dulin daughter of William and Elizabeth (Fryer) Dulin. I found on Family Search were it had been posted that he was a son of William and Mary (Wood) Halbert. Children: 1 daughter Sibbeth Ann Halbert, m. by 1775 (first name not known) Dove.
(James Dove, Jr. was paid for a Bond in Michael Halbert (1740-1794) estate settlement)
Daniel Halbert - only thing found him on a list 1789 Fairfax Co. "Means of Identify Neighbors"/
Richard Halbert - Have a Richard mentions in Lawrence Washington estate settlement.
Michael Halbert 1740- 1794 married 1st. name unknown: Children Sarah Halbert m. in Fredrick Co. Va. Andrew Newman. Named in his Estate Settlement. Mary "Polly" Halbert m. ca. 1794 Robert Beavers. married 2nd. ca. 1778 Rosanna Buckley. Children: 2nd. marriage: "Katy" Catharine Halbert - no info.
William Halbert - have his complete line. He died in Marion Co. VA. (WV). married 1st. Jane Evans, 2nd Elizabeth (Martin) Tonkery widow of John Tonkery.
Thomas Halbert m.1st, 1801 Frederick Co Va. Mary Beavers. Lived and died in Marion Co.,Va.(WV)married 2nd Jane King. Have his complete family.
Michael Halbert m. 1811 Harrison Co. Va. Hannah Veach, daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Ford) Veach. Have his complete family.
James Halbert sold his interest in land he inheried from his father Michael in 1811 to Benjamin Berkley - land located on Little Rocky Run, Loudoun Co. Va. (This is the land he bought from John Buckley in 1786.
Lydia and Aisley Halbert no info.
Have were orphans William, Thomas, Michael, James were bind out by the keeper of the poor to learn the trade of millwright and joiner July 1796.
