Thomas and Jens Halverson

My grandfather was named Thomas Halverson. He was born in Norway and emmigrated to New York, died around 1915 or '16 at the age of about 33. He had four children, one of which was also Thomas, my father, who later spelled his name Halvorsen at times. Other children were Myrtle, George and Eddie. Never met any of the Halversons. My father left the East Coast in 1945 and never had contact again; not sure why. I know that my grandfather Thomas lived in Yonkers, N.Y.; my father was born at home at 8 1/2 Prospect St. there. My grandfather had won ice skating awards in Norway and in New York raised fighting dogs. He was a carpet weaver. I don't know who his parents were, but I think he had at least two sisters, Maggie and Edna, and I'm sure there were a brother or more because my father had a cousin Erick (sp?) Halverson. On my father's birth certificate, it's spelled Halversen -- that makes three different spellings for the same person, twice in his own handwriting! Frustrating. I would like to know whatver you can tell me about your Thomas Halverson. Willing to share anything I can. BTW, my name is Tommi -- I'm named after my father, Thomas. My maiden name was Tommi Halverson!
