HAMER (& Hibbert) in Manchester & Bury, Lancashire & New Jersey/Rhode Island US
I'd like to hear from anyone whose family is or might be connected to mine through these people.I'm guessing, based on dates and names, that James and Louisa Meadows Hamer are my ancestors, so it would be wonderful to get confirmation of this.
JAMES HAMER. Born in England? died in England?, married Louisa MEADOWS ? (IGI v4.02 British Isles shows James Hamer married Louisa Meadows on 8 June 1851 in Saint Mary, Bury, Lancashire, England. Because the marriage date jives with the birth date for Thomas, I'm assuming these are my great-great grandparents; could be wrong.)They had at least one child,THOMAS HAMER, who I am assuming was my great-grandfather,who wsa born Sept 12 1852, died on Jun 05 1889 in England? (Would like to find more information about his death) . ("Christening 10 Oct. 1852, Thomas Hamer, parents James Hamer and Louise, St. Mary, Bury, Lancashire.")On Oct 15 1882, when Thomas was 30, he married HANNAH HIBBERT (born on Jul 22 1848 in Dukinfield, Cheshire, England; died in US on Jan 21 1917). Married at All Saints Church, Manchester, Lancaster, England. They had two sons, WALTER HAMER SR. (my grandfather) (1883 in the US - 1967) and THOMAS HAMER, JR. (b.1886 in the UK) who married (in the US)ANNA VEALE.Thomas Jr. lived and died in the US, and had two sons, DONALD HAMER & KENNETH HAMER, both born in US,NJ I think, perhaps Rhode Island.Kenneth married a woman named Bea/Beatrice. Kenneth and Bea had at least 2 children, one a daughter named Judy, born about 1943. Would love to find descendants of these people, since I have very little information about them.I hope someone out there knows more about any of the names/people given and will contact me.Thanks in advance.
