Maggie Alice Brown (1878-1952), daughter of Lewis S. Brown & Christina (Garman) Brown, married David Reed Hammer II (1874-1956) in Camden County, Missouri, and had her family there. In the 1920s they moved to Kellyville, Creek, OK, and later died in Sapulpa, OK in the 1950s.This couple had 10 children --
Della May Hammer (probably died Oklahoma) 1896 – 1984 Delsia Ann Hammer (married Noah Willard Parish; lived OK) 1898 – 1978 Dettie Elizabeth Hammer (married Jesse Harrison West, stayed in Missouri) 1900 – 1984 James Albert Hammer (died in California) 1903 – 1946 Dorothy Christine Hammer (died in California) 1907 – Elmer W. Hammer (died in California) 1910 – 1975 George Raymond Hammer (died in Tulsa, OK) 1916 – Veda Nina Hammer 1916 – Infant Hammer (died in MO, buried Brown Cemetery) 1920 – 1920 Martha (Marti? Montina?) Hammer 1920-1963.
I am interested in any more info anyone may have, particularly where Reed and Maggie Hammer are buried around Sapulpa, Creek, OK.
I believe they also had the family Bible of Lewis Sinclair Brown, Maggie's father, since Reed and Maggie were the ones who were with his widow, Christina Brown, in 1921 when she died in Missouri and they handled her burial in Brown Cemetery. This Bible is mentioned in Lewis Brown's Civil War pension application. If anyone in this family has the Bible I would like to hear from them about its contents.
