Thanks for clarifying that. I've been looking for a link between the LaCrosse Hammes clan and my own. No success so far. My gr gr grandfather came through Milwaukee in 1846 and settled in St. Michael's (near West Bend) about 40 mi NW of Milwaukee. The came from Gillenfeld,Prussia. Do you know the origin of Ernest's parents?
