Castellwellian, Northern Ireland
In which county is Castellwellian, Northern Ireland? Is that spelled right or should it be Castelwellian?Either way I get only one or two hits on Google, the second being a French website and listing Hannah as a first name, not last.
Castelwellian or Castelwellian, Northern Ireland, is where Thomas Hanna was from.He married Ann Hutchinson (born about 1855), the daughter of both George Hutchinson (about 1811 Ireland, d. May 1870) and Elizabeth.During the Civil War, George Hutchinson served in New York's cavalry. He was a blacksmith and could have shoed/shod horses.
Thomas Hanna appears to be the son of Charles Hanna, a farmer from Ireland. And as I said, Charles's son Thomas was from Castellwellian, whereever that is.
Thank you!
