Since Grgr granddad's surname was given so many different ways I am looing everywhere for him. I have seen him in documents, and census listed these various ways: Parris paris pevris Pais Perris Peris Hargis Hargess Hargiss Hargus Hargison
There is some slim chance that his name PARRIS is not his given name but a name he either chose to use, or a middle name. When we find him in record associated with his wife in Tennessee, he pops up as having the initials M.A. in transcriptions. The A. we wonder.. could it be P. and transcribed wrongly? The M. maybe is Milford, but we are not positive yet.. there is some indication to that as a possibility but NOTHING conclusive.
He was born in Knox County, Tennessee. Married Eliza Jane Beckham (Jane, Janie to her Beckham Family). They were married in 1847 and lived in or near Marshfield, Webster county, Missouri at the time of Parris' death in 1863 at the age of 40 years. There is also some indication from an affidavit of birth for one of their children that they may have lived in Lawrence County, MO too.. and I know they lived in Wayne County, Tennessee as well.
I Feel my Parris maybe associated with the line of family that have Samuel Van Hook Hargis amongst them.. as well as the Whiteside connnection..
