I'm responding to your 2007 query on Isaiah Harlow. You may already have the following information which I gleaned from Ancestry.com, Pubic Member Trees.
Isaiah Harlow's spouse Margaret Carr is said to have been born in 1774, and died 2-14-1876 in New Oregon,IA.Children of Isaiah Harlow and Margaret Carr reportedly were: Cynthia HarlowElizabeth HarlowElizabeth HarlowGeorge Washington HarlowIsaiah HarlowJohn HarlowMary HarlowSusan Harlow, & William Harlow. My quick search revealed nothing about Isiah.
I'm a descendant of John Harlow (b 1833 Albemarle, VA, d 1889, Barton Co.,MO.)If you come have or come across any information on the John and William in the family of Isaiah Harlow and Margaret Carr, I'd appreciate hearing from you. My Harlow was an orphan and it has been rough finding out anything about his VA roots.
I think it highly likely that Isaiah Harlow did grow up 'eighteen miles from Richmond.' as the counties around Richmond, have seen and heard the Harlow name for generations.
Carr is an old name in VA. I wonder if 'Burke Garden, Tazewell Court-house, West Virginia' is in fact Burke’s Garden, in Tazewell County, Virginia?Burke’s Garden Central Church and Cemetery and Burke’s Garden Rural Historic District are Registered Historic Landmarks in Tazewell County,VA http://www.tazewellhistory.org/landmarks.htmlhttp://www.tazewellhistory.org/landmarks.html
