The Oldhams are my direct ancestors who married into the Simpson family- the Pepper Family and the Bennett Families All of these are my ancestors- For anyone interested, Jesse Oldham is included in this brief history. Oldham Family Richard Oldham- b 1704-Virginia and died 1785 Caswell Co. NC, and Elizabeth Bayse- b 1714- in 1731- He lived in Northumberland Co. VA first. He was the son of Richard, Sr. and wife Mary Ann?The 1810 census of Botetourt Co. VA lists Richard Oldham. Elizabeth was the d/o Edmund Bayse and Lydia Karenhappuck – said to be Native American. Their children: a. Richard “Estill”, - b March of 1744-1745 in Pr. William Co. VA and died Apr 20, 1834-in Estill, KY- He served in the Rev. Warwith his brother, John Oldham’s Co.under Col. Moore and Gen. Butler from Caswell Co. NC He fought at Cowpens and Guilford Courthouse-as Pvt- and was a Major after moving to KY.He married Ann Pepper-

Jesse Oldham- b 1732- Pr. William Co. VA- died 1814- Boonesborough, Madison KY- married Elizabeth Simpson, on Oct 21, 1757 in Orange Co, NC - She was born about 1740 in Fairfax Co. and died 1813- d/o Richard Simpson, Jr. and Mary Kincheloe-b 1715-Fairfax Co. and died 1789- Caswell Co. NC. He lived on Stoney Creek adjacent Richard Simpson, SR, his father-in-law.
