I have been reading the Knox Co, OH probate settlements 1808-1832, microfilm (# 1294297) from LDS.There is no index, and it's a collection of little pieces of paper that have been organized into boxes and files.
Box 5, file # 56 is for the estate of John Harrod, with pieces of paper (receipts, IOUs etc) dated 1815-1818.
Box # 5, file # 63 is for the case of Samuel Harrod, most papers dated 1828, concerning actions of Levi H. Harrod who was the guardian of Samuel and Levi, sons of John Harrod, deceased.
Box #5, file 67 is for the estate of John Harrod, with papers dated 1814. (Notice how out- of- chronologial order these are?) Includes a list of promissory notes executed to him by others, also papers from the estates of people with other surnames. I'm not sure why they were all included in this file.
There are a lot of anecdotal nuggets to be found here, including original signatures.
I am not researching the Harrod family, but will post the index I have made for this film to the Rootsweb Knox Co web site when I'm done. Hope this helps someone.
