I am hoping that you Harsha family is related to the Harsha family that lived across the Hudson River in Stillwater, Saratoga County.
I am seeking genealogical data on both of the men named Hugh Harsha, who lived in the Saratoga Patent in the 1770's.
The elder Hugh Harsha's farm was located in Great Lott 14 of the Saratoga Patent and is within the boundaries of the Saratoga National Historical Park in present day, Town of Stillwater, Saratoga County, NY.
The elder Hugh Harsha had died before March 2, 1779 and was survived by his widow, who appears on the Saratoga District Tax List in his stead. The tax assessor recorded her name as "Widow Harsha".
Hugh Harsha had at least one son.Hugh Harsha, Jr.'s name appears on the October 23, 1779 Saratoga District Tax List in place of the Widow Harsha.
A man named Hugh Harsha served in the 13th Regiment of the Albany County Militia. However, I do not know if it is the elder Hugh Harsha or his son.
Any biographical information on Hugh Harsha, Sr. his wife, his children, and his parents will be greatly appreciated.
Any biographical information on Hugh Harsha, Jr, Jr., his wife, and his children will also be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help.
