UPDATE: After another 10 years of research, I have found several factual items of interest for all those related to BURRELL and SARAH BOTTOMS. 1.) Burrell and Sarah lived in Bladen CO NC until Burrell's death in 1800 (He was a chain carrier on a road building crew).Sarah Bottoms then moved to Camden, Kershaw County SC with her 5 children. These five children are 1.) John Bottoms, m. Nancy Marsh in Kershaw County, 2.) James Madison Bottoms, m Elizabeth Lockhart (also from Kershaw CO SC) in 1821, Jones COunty, GA, later married to ELiza McElroy Hartsfield, 1840, in Pike County, GA., 3.) Martha "Patsy" Bottoms, married to Thomas Jefferson Watson in 1816, Sumter County, SC, 4.)Francis Bottoms, marriage unknown - however Francis appears in home of Brother John in Pike County., 5.) Nancy Bottoms, HIGHLY likely that Nance was married to Elvey Lewis - both appear in Alabama in late 1850's and nephew, John Bottoms is listed as overseer on their farm in the 1850 census. All of John Bottoms' children migrate to ALabama and further west after his death. This data is documented by family LETTERS (original from as early as 1820) that I have located during various visits to family members. Also documentation has been verified during visits to Camden SC where MANY items remain to be viewed in the city's library. NO reference EVER is made to any other sons, or daughters.Certainly John B.Bottoms is NOT related to this family, and neither are the Noel, Parker, or Richard Bottoms families.Richard, Parker,David and Robert are related to John Bottoms, migrant from Ireland, married to Margaret, and living in Pickens County, SC. Noel Bottoms is the son of Parker Bottoms.
It is highly likely that Sarah Bottoms' maiden name is NOT Hartsfield.
