Hi Cindy, sorry for the long delay, I've been on a trip.
If we are on the same Edmund, I have him as a brother to Simeon b. 4/10/1779 and Nathaniel b, 6/8/1775.Edmund was born ?; m.(1) Hannah Oliver 8/16/1798 Eddington, ME.Hannah b. 1805-06?, Etna, ME; m.(2) Marcy Newcomb (Intentions filed 5/24/1806 in Hampden, ME).Marcy b. 4/20/1787 Hampden, ME., the daughter of Reuben Newcomb and Mahitable Atwood.Source:Genealogy 165.Marcy died 1812 Hampden, ME.Edmund died Plymouth/ Dixmont/Etna, ME area.
The following has not been confirmed but,
I believe these three boys are the children of Benjamin Hartford, Jr. b. 6/3/1744 in Scarboro, ME with unknown wife - she died in Clinton, ME in 1815, probably December as the town paid for her coffin on 16 December 1815 (Source: "History of Clinton, Maine", pg 64).I have Benjamin Jr., as the son of Benjamin Harford/Hartford (2 spellings) and Temperance Briant/Bryant (2 spellings).Benjamin Harford/Hartford b. 4/15/1716 in Dover, NH or Kittery, ME??, died in Scarboro, ME. He married Temperance 12/9/1737 in Scarboro, ME.Temperance was born in Scarboro (Source of marriage is found in the "Maine Historical and Genealogical Recorder (MHGR); also, the bapt. of Benjamin and his 2 oldest children, the birth of 3 of their children are in records of the First Congregational Church of Scarborough, ME; in the MHGR, Benjamin's last name is "Harford" and Temperance's is "Bryant".The 3 children listed are Charity, Susanna and Benjamin, Jr., but, they probably had more. He was the son of Nicholas Harford/Hartford (2 spellings) b. Abt 1680, died 5/31/1737 in Kitery, ME or Dover, NH??, and Elizabeth Jenkins m. Abt 1701. Elizabeth b. Of Kittery, ME or Dover, NH died Aft. 5/31/1737. They had 12 children.Nicholas was the son of John Harford/Hartford.John b. Bef. 1660 Of Dover, NH.John known only by a Quaker - record of marriage of his other son William to Patience LongJohn on 11/6/1701.John was the son of Thomas Harford/Hartford b. Abt. 1650 Of Dover, NH or Kittery, ME.Thomas was with Kittery men who witnessed a deed of Joshua Crockett of Dover to Richard Cutts of Kittery in 1697.Thomas was the son of William Harford/Hartford.William b. Abt 1630 Of Dover, NH.He was a tailor at Belamy's Brook, Dover, NH.Listed as a drunk and idle in 1678; at Rich Otis' house in 1680 coaxing for liquor; he was first at Charlestown, MA where he was living in May 1673.His wife was in Old England. That's basically all I have with the exception of notes, children's names and DOB, etc.If its the same Edmund and this ancestry ever proves out it would be great; however, as you are probably aware, the Hartfords didn't leave very many footprints to pick up on.Good luck.
