Joyce sorry for the delay. I have been researching other branches of our family. Is it Wescott or Westcott? I have a picture showing the four Harton sisters who were my grandmother's aunts. In her handwriting they are marked as being Aunt Mary Elworthy, Aunt Lizzie Tapp, Aunt Eliza Spearin and Aunt Sarah Westcott.Mary was born in 1838, Sarah in 1848, Lizzie (Elizabeth)in 1852 and Eliza in 1853. The picture looks to be taken in the 1880's or early 1890's.It is marked as taken by J. Senior of Exeter, Ontario.I also have a picture of two young girls, perhaps in their twenties, the picture was taken by Locke&Peterson of Deadwood,S.D. Unfortunately there is no indication as to who the two young women are. My grandmother lived with her uncle Thomas Harton until his death in 1935.These pictures probably originally belonged to him.He was born in 1839 and is an older brother of Sarah. The other Harton siblings were Christopher who I understand went to Oakland, California, Harry, born in 1846 moved to Albion, Michigan, James born in 1842 is buried in Strathroy Cemetery, George,my great grandfather was born in 1854 and John who had no family and of whom I have no info.John was also the name of their father. There are 11 Hartons buried in the Exeter Cemetery and all are related to Sarah in one way or another. There are also 27 Westcott's.I have been told that the Hartons came from Devon, England, but I have not been able to confirm this so wonder if they were married in England or in Canada. Why did they move to Deadwood? It is interesting to see how Sarah named most of her children after her siblings in Ontario.
