Still trying to figure out family of Susan E. Harvell, born 18 Sept 1833, Upson Co GA (bplace per census), married Jesse Wall, 22 Sept 1850, Muscogee Co GA, died 30 May 1911, Marion CO GA, buried Union Baptist Church Cemetery.Children to this union were: Joseph, John W., George David, Polly/Molly Ann, Charlie, Hattie and Will.
A possible sibling of Susan is Ann Harvell; who was b ca 1829, GA, married Edward Nix (ch of THomas and Edy Nix)7 July 1946, Muscogee CO GA.Children: Charles, William, Ela, Emma.Edward was a mlouder, and they were in 1850 census in Montgomery, AL, and in 1860 in Mobile AL.
Another possible sibling of Susan is Samuel B. Harvell, who was b ca 1825, GA; married Martha Ann S. Nix (dau of THomas and Edy Nix), 15 May 1845, Muscogee Co GA.She died 22 Nov 1862 COlumbus GA, and he died 3 Apr 1861 COlumbus GA.Children: Andrew, John B (died young), James W. (died young), Samuel B (died young) and Edward. What happened to Andrew and Edward? An Edward Harvell married a Matilda Johnson, 30 July 1871 in Mobile AL (Edward Nix and family were in Mobile AL in 1860 - perhaps still there in 1870? - maybe Edward went to live with them after the death of his parents?Samuel B. was a printer by trade, and they lived in Muscogee Co per 1850 and 1860 census.
Other people of interest in Muscogee Co are:
1.David Harvell/Harvill, 1840 census in Dist 678 Muscogee Co GA.
2.Jane Harvell who married John Fox 28 Dec 1838, Muscogee Co GA.John Fox was sentenced to 19 years inprisonment for same issues as Weston (#5 below).Possibly the same person who is in Macon GA jail for larceny aged 45 in 1850 census.Certainly seems to tie together Jane, James and Weston as siblings - if the Mason issue is correct.
3.Andrew Harvill, who waws Vice President of the Temperance Society organized in Muscogee Co 1 Aug 1829.Note that Samuel B. Harvell named his first son Andrew.
4.James Harvell/Harvial/Harvil, 1841 sold a lot in Columbus GA on Olgethorpe St which also had a confectionary on it to Mary Ann White.Sold the remains of a steamboat Tallapoosa lying on the west bank of the Chattahoochee River opposite Columbus in 1842 to William McAlister.1843 a marriage agreement between James Harvil and Mary Ann White, 19 July 1843 in which all of her property to be separate from her husband, but husband to have control.Presume she is the same Mary Ann White who purchased the land from him in 1841.Note that Samuel B. Harvell named his third son James. Is this the same James who is in 1850 census in Cherokee Co AL, b ca 1803, who was married to Sarah/Sally, had children Mason (b GA) and Thursday (b AL) and possibly others. If so - note the son named Mason and see #5 that Western/Weston is possibly son of Mason.Suggests then that James and Weston are brothers.
5.Western or Weston Harvell or Harvill or Harwell.land owned by him was sold at public sale to WIlliam Harvill. In 1847 this William Harvill was of Cobb Co GA when he sold same land., b ca 1805, married Martha Bloodworth 21 Nov 1824 Jasper Co GA.Sentenced to 9 years imprisonment (for more details see Roger Harvell's query here Jan 23, 2003.in 1839, pardoned 5 Oct 1847, a Grocer, born in Georgia. Is he the same person who married Tempy Maloney 1863 in Muscogee Co GA.Is he son of Mason?
