We are trying to locate Harvilles from the area surrounding Maplesville/Plantersville, Alabama. The family has lived in Chilton, Autauga, Dallas, Perry, Bibb, Shelby, Coosa and Elmore counties in the past 150 years. We are especially trying to locate information regarding Alfred Harville, Allie Cook Harville and their son, Elijah.
Elijah Harville who was married to Susan Heard(sp?). They had (10) children: Lester Sr., Loraine, John Sr., Easter, Jim, Earnestine, Howard, Josephine, Robert and Ardenia.
Elijah's parents were Alfred and Allie Cook Harville. His sisters were Nora and Emma. I have been able to locate an Alfred Harvill household in the 1880 United States Census for Plantersville, Dallas, Alabama. His family members were listed as Allie 25, John 9, Nora 7, Emma 5, Nette 4 and Alfred 7M.
Unfortunately, the Harville family bible is currently missing. We are trying to locate it, along with Elijah and Susie Harville marriage license. We are trying to confirm that Elijah Harville is one of the son's of Alfred Harville, who is shown in the 1880 census.
We know that Alfred Harville was a slave; Jennie Lou who is one of his great granddaughters confirms this. Jennie is 84 years old with a very sharp mind and memory.
We are also interested in locating the Harville coat of arms, if anyone has it.We have contacted several companies which will create one, but we'd like to see the original coat of arms if possible.
We would greatly appreciate any information or assistance provided. Thank you!
