I got my information from "Orange County, VT" (Child, 1888) in the section about the Town of Newbury. This book is in the DAR Library.John Haseltine came to Newbury, VT in the first settlement, in 1762.He came from Hampstead, NH.That is all I know at this point about John. His son, Capt. David Haseltine, b. 7 Apr 1759 may have been born in Hampstead. His sister Betsey was born in Newbury in 1763.Capt. David had a tavern on the main thoroughfare from Concord to Montpelier, and also fought in the Revolution. He had 10 children, David, Jr., John, Samuel, Anna, Martha, Elijah, Sally, Levi, Ebenezer and Mary, all born in Newbury, VT.I am descended from Levi who married Almira Aldrich, daughter of Capt. Richard Aldrich of Bradford, VT.I hope you can "fit" John Haseltine into your Haseltine genealogy.I would like to know his wife's name and more about his lineage.
