I'm looking for information on Milton Brockett Haston, b. Nov 1849 in Van Buren TN to Isaac Haston and Emmaline King. Milton's wife was Pharsetta or Parsettia, I believe her maiden name was Stipe as the 1880 census of Galley Rock, Yell Co. Arkansas has a Malinda Stipe living with M Brockett and Pharsetta J (as she spelled it on that census) listed as "mother in law". The 1880 census also lists 8 year old Charles Kingkade as a boarder of the Hastons.
1900 census of Harrison-town, Boone Co. Arkansas lists 49 year old Milton B Hastings and wife 47 year old Parsettia J. They are listed as never having children.
1900 census of Harrison-town also lists a 28 year old Chas H (Charles Hamilton) Hastings, wife Dona and daughter Vivian. Our family believes Charles Hamilton Hasting/Hastings (he left the s off on later censuses) was originally named Charles Kingkade, but was adopted by Milton and Pharsetta. Pharsetta is supposedly Charles's maternal aunt.
Does anyone have any information that could connect the two? This has been a notoriously tough link. Charles H Hasting listed his parents' birthplaces as Kentucky on some censuses and as Ireland/Scotland on others. It's all quite vague and I'd love it if anyone knows anything about the life of Milton Brockett Haston and his wife. My father's aunt told us he was a justice of the peace and ran a feed store. Thanks,
