Hi, I don't know if my Hatfields have any connection to Yorkshire England or not.I am trying to find the antecedents of William Hatfield who immigrated to Delaware in about 1730.I cannot find a paternal line for him and assume that he comes from lines either in Yorkshire or in Herefordshire. According to what I can find it appears that they came here from Haverfordwest Wales. This William was married to a Mary White (relative of William White.)
When the Hatfields came to DE they had a dau Elizabeth b 1727and a son Levi b 1730.Their next child was William b 1733 Murderkill 100 Kent Co DE.A son Wheatly was b 1741 same place.Given the geography of England, it appears that they could have originated in Yorkshire or Lincolnshire in northern England.
Please contact me at the above address to discus this further.I also have a lot misc materials on the Hatfields who are not mine.
A thoughtareyou sure you are not looking for the Thomas Hatfield lines which origininated inYOrkshire. Thomaswas a member of the Robinson group of Protestant rebels. He left Yorkshire in 1620 with the group and went to Leyden Holland where he md the widow of Valentine Kocks. They returned to England due to bad circumstances and then traveled to New Jersey by a sister ship of the Mayflower.
After arriving in America, the families were affiliated with the Dutch Church in New Amsterdam making it difficult to find birth records for the children.Thomas definitely had two sons Thomas and Mattias and possibly a Peter.Thomas traveled to the Rye and Clinton Co area of New York and was affiliated with the Gilberts and Fowlers of that area.Mattias remained in Elizabethtown NJ.He had at least Cornelius, Abraham, and Issac for sons and other children.Abraham became the father of the "Feuding Hatfields".Cornelius and Issac were heavily involved in the REV WAr.Phoebe one of the dau md Robert Ogden whose sister was the mother of Aaron Burr. When the sister died, Burr came to live with the Ogdens.
I have a lot of materials like this to share with others, so feel free to contact me.
