Anderson Cem, Decatur Twp, Van Buren Co, MI; m. Morristown, NJ 13 Feb 1787 Phebe Baldwin, perhaps dau. Samuel.He was taxed in Hanover, NJ as a single man in 1783, and appears continuously on the NJ Ratables until 1797 which is probably the time he left for NYS.Census records show him in Romulus 1800, Scipio 1810, Romulus 1820, Mentz 1830.An article in Dowagiac Daily News in 1942 stated that he owned a line of canal boats in NYS, but went broke in the panic of 1837, left for MI and bought 275 acres in Little Prairie Ronde.Ch. at least: Unamed son and 2 dau alive in 1800, gone by 1810 iv.Abner,7, b. 1799 v.Samuel B.,7, b. 15 Feb 1802; d. 19 Feb 1890, bur. Anderson Cem; came to Cass Co,MI in 1837; a son in KS 1887. vi. dau.,7, b. 1800-1804 with Benjamin in Romulus in 1820; possibly another relative;in 1830 Benjamin & Phebe were alone except for a female under 5, but Abner then had 2 extra males in his household, not identified in these families.
