I "retired" several years ago as HFA genealogist, but am helping out at the moment.
Page 1140 of Hathaways of America, 1970 edition,has:
David, b. 176-, Elmira 1820 (Tioga Co., NY 29/227); perhaps son David, near Thomas (q.v.) Starkey, Yates Co., NY 1840 with female, b. 177-; Tioga Co. 1820 also has male and female, b. 1794-1802; male 1804-10, and 4 males and 1 female, b. 1810-20.Ref.Notes under Gilbert
Also of note:We have a David, born 10 Sept. 1737, d. Rock Stream, NY 12 Nov. 1812 ae 75-2-2.Grave Rock Stream, NY 12 Nov 1812 - ae 75y 2 mo 2 days.We also have that he was a Tory, (see New Brunswick History page 43 or 93, stayed in Nova Scotia 6 years.Elmira 1820.No land deed, will, nor census record found.But it would appear this David might have been father to the later David. There were five sons of Ebenezer who were Royalists, although Ebenezer was notGilbert was one of these sons.
