Richard W. Gray of Appleton, NY, formerly of Allagany, NY , husband of the late Eileen L. Langdon Gray entered into rest Monday, January 7,2002 in Inter-Community Memorial Hospital. Born in Lapee, Michigan, February 2, 1919, 82 years old, the son of the late Stuart and Carrie Wheeler Havers. .
He was an Army veteran during the Korean War. He worked as a Carpenter for Carpenters Union Local 280 in Niagara Falls, NY. He married Eileen L. Langdon May 17, 1965. She died June 8, 19977. He moved to Appleton, NY in 1974 coming from Allagany, NY. He was also the past president of Olcott Lions Club and enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Father of Judy (Norman) Rupple of Appleton, NY , Connie (Timothy) Stout of Barker, NY, David Stiles of FrankIinville, NY, Kirk Havers of FL., and the late Dwane Havers; brother of William Havers of Allegany, NY, Edward (Mary) Havers of Olean, NY, Ron (Frances) Havers of Allagany, NY, and the late Beatrice Alspot, Marie Schlaud, Margaret Varn, Leon Havers, and Stuart Havers; brother-in-law of James Varn of FL, and Betty Havers of Allagany, NY; also survived by 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
No prior visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on January 12, 2002 at 11 AM in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Quaker Rd., Barker, NY. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery , Olean, NY .Memorials to Olcott Lions Club, Inter Community Memorial Hospital, or to the American Lund Association would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements by the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc.
