My third great grandmother's youngest living sister, Mary Nora VAN DER COOK (1788-1871), married Wilhelmus HAYNER (1784-1860). (I have been told that William was the son of Frederick Hayner and Hannah SIMMONS, but I do not know if this is correct.) In turn, their son, Abner Hayner (circa 1816-1877), married his cousin, Cornelia VanDerCook (1816-?), daughter of Peter VanDerCook and Nancy FILKIN and a granddaughter of Simon and Fevine (VAN DER HOOF) VanDerCook. (Mary Nora's father was Henry VanDerCook, Simon VDC's brother.) With the exception of lacking a marriage date, I am doing rather well with William and Mary Nora's data, but not so well with their children. I have four children listed for them, of which the aforementioned Abner was the second eldest. The others are Lewis Hayner (1808-1886, married RHODA REED, threeknown children), Alpha Hayner (1819-1904, married 1. Mary BUTTON, six children, married 2. Abby CROPSEY HERRINGTON, no issue) and Emlin Hayner (died young). I am primarily interested in the lines of descendancy that come out of the marriage between William and Mary Nora (VanDerCook) Hayner and most particularly in the descendants of Abner and Cornelia (VanDerCook) Hayner.
