He may have been from NJ, but moved to KY from Hampshire Co., VA (now WV).He was in Hardin Co., KY, by 1789, living on Knob Creek. He moved to Green Co. KY ca. 1806, and later back to Hardin Co.He was living on his Green Co. farm at the time of his death. He died on a boat on the Ohio River, while on the way to visit his son Peter, ca. 1833.
In 1795, Caleb Sr. was appointed surveyor of a road from the "mouth of Knob Ck. to Hazel's cabin".
