I'm not sure this will help, but I have two small pieces of information about Sophia Hazelton in Racine, Wisconsin. This information was obtained from the Racine Heritage Museum, as follows:
From the Racine Daily Journal, 11 May 1885: "HAZELTON, Mrs. SOPHIA DIED: This morning at St. Mary's Hospital of dropsy, age 28 years."
MOUND CEMETERY: Sophia Hazelton, gr. 41, Block 15 Old Lot #26, died May 11, 1885.
Hope this helps.
I am looking for ancestors of Curtis W. HAZELTON, b. Jan 26, 1800, in Dunham, Upper Canada; died Feb 1, 1885, also buried in Mound Cemetery. He married a Caroline GALUTIA before 1843. There is evidence that Curtis was in Vermont at one time. They had at least 5 children:
Mary Jane HAZELTON m/1 James WILSON, m/2 James WILSON (namesake). She was born 2/4/1843 in Canada(?)and died 2/10/1924, buried in Mound Cemetery; Emily Amelia HAZELTON, m. John TRUMBULL Jr. She was born 5/31/1835 in Vermont, died 4/5/1924. She is buried in Graceland Cemetery in Racine, WI; Mrs. BROWNSON(listed as survivor in C.W. Hazelton obitiuary); Sarah Ann HAZELTON, m. Leopold Stiger. She was born in Racine, WI, birth and death date unknown; George HAZELTON, m. Amelia BAUMAN. He was born circa October 1848 in NY, died 11/25/1914 and is buried in Mound Cemetery in Racine, WI.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone that has information on any of the above.
