Re: Hüecker/Heacker [was Re: Heckers in IL in 1880]

I have no idea where Dr. & Prof. Heacker arrived in the U.S. but one of the letters I have from Maude mentioned that Dr. & Prof. Heacker (having arrived in 1851) went to New York in 1852 to pick up Frederica (wife of the prof) and Mary sister of William Joseph and daughter of Joseph Johannes and Frederica.My guess is their ship(s) came from England, but I don't know if they were direct or via some other port(s).

Diane, I still have those pictures and I'll get them scanned and posted on my homepage sometime this month (September, 2002)... it's only been 4 years since I promised them to you.
