Can someone tell me if the Sarah Hadley who married Joseph White in Churchville Presbyterian Church, Bucks Co. PA, 10 June 1765, was actually Sarah HEADLEY?
I see many family trees for Joseph White and Sarah Headley married on 8 June 1765 in Anson Co. NC.I am thinking this is the date the license or surety was taken out---and was really in PA---and they married in the Churchville Pres. Church on June 10.
My White line is of George White, d. 17 Feb 1824 (Casey Co. KY)---and believed to be the son of Joseph White Jr. and Sarah Headley.1820 Casey Co. KY census would put George White at least 55 years of age. George m. Eunice Dungans in Washington Co. VA in 1795. Eunice was d/o Elisha Dungan and Hannah Borden Moore. At the time of his death in 1824, widow was Jane.George's children were George Washington (my 2nd gr-grandfather), Andrew, John, William, Nathan, Eson, Ely, James, Catherine, Esther, Nancy, Isabel, Salley, Polly, and Patsey. He requested his sons be bound to learn a trade or business.George Washington White was indentured to Elijah Webster and Jane Rains Webster on 6 Sept. 1824.Some lines of Headleys come into Crawford Co. IL about time my George Washington White came there in 1850. Some Hadleys show in 1880 Crawford Co. IL census. A few were in Mercer Co. KY. when George White was there from about 1795 to 1824.
I am seeking a marriage bond or license for Sarah Headley to Joseph White Jr.Lines of Joseph are from Carolus White and Margareta Van Cullen---and Joseph White and several wives (2 Leeth, Averilla Harper). Joseph Sr. and Carolus (Charles) were brothers. Joseph Jr. may have been married previously to Sarah Hutcheson/Hutchings. Executors to the will of George White in 1824 were Thomas Hutchings and William Minor.Witnesses were Jacqueline Ambler Lewis, Jacob Johnson and Thomas Thomas (Thoman). Appraisers were Henry HARPER, Leonard Taylor, and William Lobb (Cobb). Thanks for any info on this line of Sarah Headley. Shari
