Robert, It's been so long, but we've been working on the genealogy.(We being me and my second cousin, John MacNee.)Anyway, from what I can piece together, we have common relatives. You mentioned Nelson Healis.Actually, it is Horatio Nelson Healis (married to Sarah Elizabeth Hollingsworth, as you said).HNH is the son of Richard Thomas Healis (b. 1774 m. Charlotte Whitehall) and the brother of our 4th great grandfather, Richard Thomas.HNH's son was Edward Thomas (b. 1852 in Barbados)who married Eliza Jane Matthews in Massachusetts.I am curious because their child, Herbert E. Healis, was born about 1869, but Eliza Jane's birthdate is always given as 1860.I wonder if Edward Thomas was married before.Right now I have two additional children who apparently are Eliza Jane's (James T. and Isadora E.) Also, I have a second wife for Edward Thomas, Lizzie F. Ward. They were married Feb. 8, 1899.
The first Richard Thomas Healis is the son of Michael Healis who married Ann Hollingsworth. We haven't been able to trace back farther than Michael's marriage in Barbados, so far. It's possible the family came to Barbados in the late 1600s/early 1700s from the British Isles.
Your information has been very helpful, and I thought you might be interested in this.
