I am looking for anyone with Heater family living in Greene County, Illinois in the early to mid 1800s that might be related.
My GGG-Grandmother was Frances [“Fanny”] Heater. She was born on 08 May 1812.She was married to John Markham on 10 March 1830, and shortly thereafter moved to Barr Township, Macoupin County, Illinois.
John Markham died in Barr Township on 17 January 1835, at the age of 28.He was returned to be buried in Hermitage Cemetery, Rubicon Township, Greene County, Illinois.
Following the death of John, Fanny then married my GGG-Grandfather John Roumans on 03 August 1835, in Barr Township. After leaving Illinois, the family spent some time in Boone County, Missouri, where my GG-Grandmother, Nancy Jane Roumans, was born.
The family then moved on to Mahaska County, Iowa, where Nancy was married to George Eldredge Loghry in Oskaloosa, Iowa on 15 March 1866.[I am in possession of George and Nancy’s original Marriage License given to the Bride!]
Fanny died 09 March 1866 in Mahaska County, Iowa [possibly in Oskaloosa], and was returned to Illinois to be buried next to John in Hermitage Cemetery.
Would like to hear from anybody who might recognize this Heater family!!!
