Thomas Heath was born in Duplin County North Carolina about 1765.In 1784 he was granted about 1200 acres of land by his brother or (father) James who also lived in Duplin County and Thomas B. Heath began to farm.Thomas and James Heath were the only two Heaths in Duplin County according to the 1790 census.The Latter Day Saints have records showing that Thomas married a woman named Elizabeth and when Thomas was 29 years old Elizabeth gave birth to Alexander.In April of 1808 Alexander was given 115 acres at Maxwell Swamp near Magnolia in Duplin County. Alexander married a woman named Margaret and in 1819 they had a son named William T. Heath.On March 10, 1836 William T. Heath married Nancy Mallard of Duplin County. In January of 1839 William obtained 218 acres of land in the Maxwell Swamp area. His father Alexander apparently sold him the land.
