Hello Shane, My records show Ada Hebner was the daughter of John Hebner b. abt. 1825 in Holland and Margaret (McCann)b. abt. 1840 in England.Siblings include:Mary b. abt. 1857, Hannah b. abt. 1859, Ada b. abt. 1861, John William b. 1862, Rachel b. July 12, 1865 and d.July 17, 1943,Simon b. abt. 1872, and Frank b. abt. 1879.I have also heard of an Edgar b. abt. 1868 and a Susan b. abt. 1878, but do not know for sure about them. All children were born in Ontario. In 1889 the family moved to Gilbert Plains to homestead a quarter section. The death dates you state are correctand I am told John is buried in an unmarked grave on the corner of the farm he homesteaded in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba and Margaret is buried in Gilbert Plains.
As for Ada and Sam Forrest's children:There was Roy, Margaret, Arthur and Martha.I do not know their birth dates.
In the 1871 and 1881 Ontario census John is listed as being of German ethnic origin and states in both that he was born in Ontario. Some research indicates this is correct and he may be the son of Charles Peter Hebner and Polly Schell; and grandson of Nicholas Hubner and Catherine Margaretha (?) who immigrated in 1792 from Germany.
I have more information as to marriages of Ada's siblings if you so desire.Hope this information helps. Marilyn
