Christian Heitler/Heidler was the father of 12 children. The story goes that his ancesters left the Heidleberg region in Germany to escape the religious persecution. Many of these Germans settled in southeastern PA.Christian was located in Leacock Twp, Lancaster CO, PA in the 1790 census. His fifth son, Curtis H Heidler migrated to Erie CO, PA with his family circa 1830s, along with some 50 other Lancaster CO, families during the same decade.Wm Penn had offered land grants to that area of PA, so many families from Lancaster took the opportunity. The families seemed to have settled in the western part of the county, mainly McKean, Fairview and Mill Creek Twps. Curtis Heidler,Sr settled in Fairview Twp, Erie CO, and had a family of 10 children.
So, there must be many Heidlers out there who have just scattered through out the USA.
