Oh my goodness!!! This is very exciting!I'd be happy to chat with you!I think that your James Holland Heighway (your grandfather? great-grandfather?) must have been the younger (youngest?) brother of my grandmother's grandmother, Mary Ann Heighway (m. Samuel Davies).James was nearly 30 years younger, so that was quite an age spread for the mother!
I replied to this message immediately after you sent it, and it disappeared into cyberspace. So in checking to see if there might be responses I only found tonight that it was not there. But, in the meantime, another person on this list connected me to someone who actually met my grandmother on a trip to England.Wow.
My Mary Ann Heighway, m. Samuel Davies, and had 7 children. All remained in England, with the exception of my ggrandfather George Davies who came to the US, settling first in Pittsburgh, PA with his uncle William Davies.(Aunts Eleanor and Mary Davies were also there).
I've only been to NZ once -- BEAUTIFUL place.Much like the US west must have looked like 100 years ago, before all the development.South Island, 1994.
