I'd be interested in sharing information on the "Hemingborough/de Hemingborough/Hembroff" linkages.
We've been able to trace our ancestry back as far as Joseph Hembrough who was born 1791/3 in Howden, Yorkshire. He married Martha Cook Nov. 25, 1819 in Whitgift, West Riding, Yorkshire, and later moved to Canada.I read somewhere that his parents may have been Richard Hembrough and Elizabeth Lolley but I cannot confirm this -- any info would be greatly appreciated.
The children listed for Richard and Elizabeth are:
Joseph Hembrough (b. Feb 10 1793 in Howden, Yorkshire, Eng)
John Hembrough (b. Apr 15, 1801 in Howden, Yorkshire, Eng)
Richard Hemingbrough (b. Jul 20, 1804 in Howden, Yorkshire, Eng).
I am a descendent of one of Joseph's son's: Thomas Hembrough who married Mary Pearce. The name changed to "Hembroff" shortly thereafter.
