Following ofn from Keiths answer I have a copy of "Burkes Peerage World Book of Hempsteads" which says the Hempstead Coat of Arms is officially documented in "Burkes General Armoury". The description is , I quote:- "Gu. A Fesse AR. On a chief of the Second Three Mullets of the First" When translated the blazon also describes the original colours of the Hempstead Arms as: " Red; A Silver Horizontal band; on a Silver upper third, three red stars." Above the Sheild and Helmet is the crest which is described as: " The top of a Halbert Issuing"
I have a copy of this (on Paper) and will get it scanned in if any one is interested drop me a email
