I have received the following response from a researcher related to John Hendricks b. 1774 through DNA results.
"Based upon the research done to date, Willem Hendricks, our oldest known ancestor, is not a son of Gerhard Hendricks.Nor is our line related to the de Wees Hendricks group. Also, Kreigsheim is not in Bavaria. It is near modern day Worms, on the Rhine River.Other immigrants were down the Rhine River near the border between modern day Netherlands and Germany.Barb, what you are getting is old and erroneous research. It is true that Willem Hendricks settled in Germantown Pa a few years after Gerhard.I have speculated that they may have been cousins, or uncle/nephew, but the only heir to Gerhard Hendricks was his daughter, and under the property system then in effect, if Willem were truly his son, property would have gone to Willem.
See the Hendricks DNA Project online, DNA ID #27604,58232,61029,72873,102478,116657,119246,114785 -- all proven to descend from Willem Hendricks. The search continues to identify which son of Willem's do we descend from.
