Spartanburg Journal, dated Sept. 24, 1909. { S.C. }
GEORGE HENNEMAN, aged 45, died this morning at his home, on Magnolia Street of congestion of the lungs. His death will be learned of with much sorrow by his many friends in the city and throughout the state.
He left Spartanburg about a month ago for Robbins, S.C., to accept a position at a sawmill plant owned by Dr. J.T. Calvert and Mr. Martin. He was not in the best of health when he left here being sufferer with Bright's disease. Seberal days ago he began to have chills and returned to Spartanburg.
MR. HENNEMAN until several years ago was engaged in the jewelry business , being the manager of the Monumental jewelry store established by his father, the late J.A. HENNEMAN. The business was sold just about the time of the Spanish- American war, and he organized a company and just about the time the company was about to embark for Cuba the war ended.
He took a deep interest in athletics, especially baseball. About 15 years ago , he managed the famous Brickbat team, and about 10 years ago, he organized a team of college players that defeated many teams in Carolina and Georgia.
The funeral will be held tomorrow, interment in Oakwood cemetery. { Spartanburg, S.C.}
[ This is not my family].
