David, I have one known Henion ancestor: Margaret Henion, b. 1795, married John P. Sloat (no known b. or d. dates); Margaret Henion d. 7/29/1879.Margaret and John had a daughter, Rachel Sloat, b. 1/24/1838. May have had other children. Rachel married John Tice (b.12/5/1836, d. 4/21/1873) on 12/6/1856, had 6 children of which one was my grandmother. After the death of John Tice, Rachel remarried a man named Conklin and had one son, Arthur S. Conklin.Rachel d. 2/10/1912. Family lore (unconfirmed) held that these Sloats were of the family that settled Sloatsburg, NY (Rockland County). This Tice family was from "Pompton, Bergen County NJ" (note, the present day town of Pompton Lakes is in Passaic County). Many of them are buried in the Pompton Lakes Reformed Church cemetery. So these folks were in the area of your Henions... it's likely that my Margaret may have been part of that clan. Any clues would be much appreciated! Thanks.
